William G. "Bill" Tope began this project as a way to document the experience of going to the small school of Wren. Through it he was able to connect with many former classmates and track down stories that would've otherwise been forgotten. Bill Tope passed away early April 2022, leaving the Wren school project to live on through his family members who share his passion for a sense of home and forgotten stories.
Bill's daughter, Christine, is an integral piece to the compilation of this project. Christine deeply values storytelling in all its forms and is a strong believer that storytelling forms and strengthens communities. She brings passion, project management, and many years of recording interviews to this project. While Christine lives across the country, she still makes time to contribute to the project and keep data collection moving.
Victoria began helping with the Wren School Project in March of 2020 when she and Bill lived together during the early days of the pandemic. She began with digitizing handwritten letters and interviewing Wren school alumnus. Currently, Victoria is giving the project a digital platform as a part of her master's program capstone. She hopes that this project will help others connect with their loved ones over cherished experiences like it did for her and her grandfather.
